Composer Janco Verduin is writing a brand new composition for Heliosfero. The piece (still untitled) for baroque violin, baroque bassoon, percussion and soundtrack, explores the relationship between humans and technology, always adapting to the progress of the latest techniques. The result will be a continuously evolving soundscape, where music and technology merge and diverge. An odd chorale on a strange shō, where the musicians continuously create new combinations with the soundtrack. A chain of sounds unfolds, with each link starting from a fusion of the musicians and the soundtrack, but consistently “derailing.” This can be compared to the consonance/dissonance effect in polyphony, but with the goal of merging and separating the individual parts as much as possible.
