In Time Travelers violin, bassoon, harpsichord/organ and percussion take center stage in a program of baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary music. The musicians play a variety of instruments in varying combinations. Also included are video projections of an animation activated by sound produced by Janco Verduin’s composition I am a Strange Loop and Brian Schorn’s beautiful graphic score Nebula.

PROGRAMME

Heliosfero will perform “Lost in Space” at SoundHouse this October 31st at 20.00. The concert format is  inspired by Rebecca Huber’s research into the diverse “miscellaneous” concert models of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Using historical and modern instruments, varied pitch systems, improvisation and visual enhancements designed by composer and artist Janco Verduin, the musicians connect repertoire with historical and contemporary improvisation to create living connections between pieces centuries apart.
